CAS is a women-owned small business formed by veterans of the Space Shuttle Program at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The founders of the company are all Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belts and Black Belts, who developed their skills primarily in a technical service environment. We helped launch the Lean Six Sigma and Reliability-Centered Maintenance Programs at KSC, have conducted many Lean Six Sigma and Reliability-Centered Maintenance training sessions, and facilitated numerous kaizen events. Our professionals led training and kaizen events at multiple government sites, including Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Johnson Space Center in Houston, Palmdale in California and Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama.

CAS also has extensive experience in the private sector. We have provided consulting and facilitation to a variety of industries, ranging from aerospace to logistics to manufacturing. We have led lean transformations and taught classes for a variety of businesses. We teach Lean Six Sigma classes for the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) Continuing Education Department We also offer training at your facility or ours.

In their careers, CAS professionals have trained dozens of Master Black Belts, over 140 Black Belts, and over 350 Green Belts. Our instructors are experienced in finance, engineering, procurement, logistics, inventory management, service processes, facilities, maintenance, planning/ scheduling, and other areas. They have led individual projects and have managed project portfolios that have saved over $65 million. Our professionals have depth of knowledge and breadth of experience to provide your personnel with the skills they need to execute projects successfully or we can help you with your Lean Transformation through consultation, training, and facilitation.

CAS’s previous and current clients include Ford Motor Company in Michigan, Professional Aircraft Accessories in Florida, and Yulista Holdings Company in Alaska to name a few. This experience ranges from strategic planning consultation to a complete corporate Lean Transformation. Bonnie Hauge has over 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry in Quality, Engineering and Organizational Excellence capacities. She is an accomplished manager, trainer, content developer, and organizational development professional. Bonnie received her undergraduate degrees from Memphis State University, an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology and a Masters in Industrial Optimization from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She is certified as a L6S Black Belt, L6S Master Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Manager (ICPM), and is certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Don Johnston, CAS CEO

Don Johnston, CEO

Don has over 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry in both engineering and Organizational Excellence capacities. Don also has extensive small business experience, having been a product manager in a high-tech start-up and a plant manager for a printing company. Don received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his MS in Engineering Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. L6S Black Belt, L6S Master Black Belt, PMP.

Frank Norris, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

Frank Norris, Senior Project Manager

With 30 years of experience in the aerospace industry in Engineering, Management, Project Management, and Organizational Excellence / Process Improvement capacities, Frank has led numerous projects and teams. He has extensive experience in Project Management and was the Senior Vehicle Engineer for NASA’s Ares I-X test flight in 2009. He also was a lead instructor in USA for L6S. Frank received his BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. He is certified as a L6S Black Belt and Project Management Professional (PMP).

David Mitchell

Dave Mitchell is responsible for business development. With 20 years of experience at the enterprise level Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise on business strategy. He works with companies to find the best approach and strategy for them while also exploring new areas of business.
